"Forgive and forget" the famous cliche people always include in their advice whenever you seek for one in relation to forgiving a person. Yes, I believe you have to forgive but the forgetting part, that I do not agree. Forgetting is always a case to case basis. It is not that you are selective about which sins against you need to be forgotten but there are instances that the sins take form as a part of your memorabilia which should be cherished because of the unforgettable but meaningful lessons they taught you in life.
Mistakes and sins committed to you should not always be taken in the negative note. Some of them teach you a great lesson in life and on the lighter side, even make you a better person. Acceptance is hard but it always comes hand in hand with forgiveness.Though there are times that acceptance may seem so difficult and beyond possible, but one must need to somehow learn to let go but not necessarily forget. You cannot let your thoughts haunt you forever. You need to painstakingly overcome them even if they almost crash you to pieces. These experiences are always worth remembering for somehow, admittedly, they made you stronger and wiser.
It will always take time to accept and forgive but you need to let go and detach your connection with your haunted thoughts. Life is too short to drown yourself in bitterness and anger. Let go and move forward. To those who have hurt, there is always something good stored for you tomorrow, a priceless and deserving reward.
